South Hobart
Our South Hobart centre opened in June 2015 and accommodates 131 children per day in 7 spacious rooms with beautiful outdoor space at the foot of Mount Wellington.
Our rooms
Babies: Our nursery welcomes babies from 6weeks to 12 months old and has three individual rooms and it’s own outdoor area to ensure babies have a quiet space with cots for sleep time, ample play areas, eating areas and plenty of things to explore.
Toddler 1: Children aged 12 months - 2 years will love the two connected spacious rooms designed for children to be inquisitive, learn and play. The Toddlers’ outdoor play area hosts our friendly pet chickens and vegetable garden!
Toddler 2: Children aged 2 years - 3 years enjoy the bright and spacious environment in this room, with a cosy reading corner, eating area and multi-use spaces for developing skills. This room has access to the bigger kids outdoor area with beautiful trees, slides, tricycles, scooters and sandpit.
Junior Kindy: Children aged 3 years - 4 years have a room filled with exciting toys, books and puzzles to keep curious minds active! The little ones are no longer toddlers, so participate in more structured activities as well as independent child-led learning. This room is also connected to the bigger kids outdoor area with beautiful trees, slides, tricycles, scooters and sandpit.
Senior Kindy & Pre-School: Children aged 4 years - 5 Years will get ready for primary school in this exciting environment with cubby house, puzzles, books, art area and more. This room prepares children for their next step to graduating to ‘big school’ with a school readiness curriculum to make for an easy transitions when their time at Child’s Play comes to an end.
Our educators
Each room has a dedicated room leader and qualified educators. Our caring and professional team includes a mixture of qualified Teachers, Diploma holders, Certificate III holders and Trainees.
What we provide
Food: We provide wholesome morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea filled with local produce and nutritionally balanced in accordance with the Move Well Eat Well government initiative. Our meals are prepared fresh daily by our in-house cook.
Nappies: We provide high quality nappies, wet wipes and rash cream so you have one less thing to pack and think about!
Sunscreen: We are proud to be a certified ‘Sun Smart’ centre and provide SPF 50+ sunscreen which we apply to to all children before outdoor play. Please be sure to pack a wide brimmed hat for your child.
