OUR CENTRES
Reggio Emilia Influenced Education & Care
What is Reggio Emilia?
The Municipal early childhood programs in Reggio Emilia, Northern Italy, for children aged three months to six years, are internationally acclaimed for the inspirations, challenges, and provocations they provide for all those concerned with the care and education of young children.
Observation, documentation, and collaborative interpretation of children’s discussions and actions, provide the constant possibility of developing new theories and constructs based on practice.
The Reggio Emilia philosophy is based upon the following set of principles:
Children must have some control over the direction of their learning;
Children must be able to learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening, and observing;
Children have a relationship with other children and with material items in the world that they must be allowed to explore;
Children must have endless ways and opportunities to express themselves.
OUR SERVICE
Food
We have an in-house cook and provide morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for all children, including pureed fruit and vegetables for babies. Our fresh groceries and meat are largely sourced from local producers to ensure we are providing the highest quality meals and supporting our community.
Nappies
We provide all nappies, wet wipes and nappy rash cream to make your life that little bit easier!
curriculum
Our director, educational leader, and teachers work together to develop a curriculum for each age-group guided by the children’s inquisitive nature.
School Readiness
Our qualified teachers have created a curriculum specially designed for children heading into primary school. At the end of the child’s last year in Child’s Play, we provide you with a full report and hand-over to give to their new teacher at school. This makes the transition to primary school as smooth as possible and ensures their new teachers know which stage your child is in.
